Our world is developing at a rapid pace with breakthroughs in science and technology. Inventions are to improve healthcare and lifestyle and not the otherway round. Though inventions are ideally for constructive purposes, its misuse could be disastrous. The most unique and strange thing is, the minorities categorised as terrorists are the ones to whom any new technology reaches first. And still worse, the common man gets to know about the technology only from these heartless, senseless humans.

How to gain control over these terrorist? Do we have the technology to combat terrorism? The answers to these questions are obvious from the 9/11, 26/11 and so many 11s and 12s. Broadly there are three kinds of problems we face today to combat terrorism. First – identification of a terrorist when he’s not involved in terrorist activities. Second – The vulnerability of technologies available to anyone living anywhere. Third is we do not have a clean counter-terrorism technology that will attack a terrorist without damanging life and property.

The first problem is where the whole world is concentrating on. And the second one is what no one has any control over. Only awareness can answer that problem. What we are going to deal with is a solution to the third problem. The beauty and magic of any convincing solution to the third problem is, it will solve the other two problems automatically since it’ll potentially prevent budding terrorist!!

The solution to the modern day problem of terrorism is directed energy weaponry! To a layman it is a modified form of LASER. Directed energy weapons range from lasers and microwave radiation emitters to particle beam weapons and sonic (sound) weaponry. These weapons can damage equipments as well as inflict casualties by depositing energy on their intended target.

When we speak of next generation technologies of anti-terrorism, we must also be aware that the terrorists also have a next generation!! And what could that possibly be?? One is bioweapons and the other is attack using robots. Both are highly highly dangerous to the society. Electromagnetic waves can very well be used to destroy electronic chips and components!! And that puts an end to next generation terrorism technology which is to be relied upon electronics one way or the other.

Speaking of the advantages of this technology, electromagnetic waves travel at the speed of light, we don’t have any problem of time lag. There is no chance for the target to detect or evade. There is no influence of gravity or wind and the range is incredibly large. They generate very high power beams and typically use a single optical system both to track a target and to focus the beam on the target in order to destroy it. Speaking of the implementation part of this technology, though the construction of the weapons turns out to be a bit costly, the usage and ammunition expenses are very less compared to conventional weaponry.

Thus our proposed technology can be used to kill any terrorists who has taken hostages without disturbing the building and the hostages at all. An attack like 9/11 can be prevented without causing havoc to the infrastructure. An attack like 26/11 can be dealt without loss of any public life. And that is the whole point of counter-terrorism or broadly anti-terrorism.

My set of questions on science which “HowStuffWorks” cannot explain

Many a number of times we question ourselves if we are good in Science. The most common answer would be “I dunno” accompanied with a careless jerk. But what about this more serious question – “Do we know who GOD is or what GOD is about?.” Of course it is one of the most controversial questions, to any individual on the Earth.
Most of us do certainly know how sound travels through the air, how electricity works, how plants and animals grow, why the sky is blue etc. But there are things in science besides that. It is not just about what black holes are about, what light is composed of, what the special theory of relativity is about and so on and so forth. Science of course is beyond all these. There are complex equations to be solved to understand the mysteries of science. One such is Schrodinger’s equation and the most difficult of it is the equation of GOD. Lets take a look at the complexity of the equation of GOD…
Hydrogen is the simplest of elements. The most interesting part is, it has evolved into creatures such as ourselves, who in turn are able to reflect upon the immensity of the cosmos, understand its functioning and even study the science of Hydrogen itself!!! What a wonder!!! “How come a transparent, odourless gas becomes a system that could be aware of itself?”… precisely, to ask the most intriguing question – “How the universe is conscious?” A simple question whose answer will gain us understand the very meaning of life!
“Matter has reached the point of beginning to know itself…” – George Wald
Looking into the question again – how the UNIVERSE is conscious. Who knows whether the non-living things aren’t conscious. So now we shall put it this way, “Where in the universe there isn’t consciousness?” If we are to say, “Right beside us, there is only air and no life, besides the microscopic organisms!!!” Hmmm…. that could be a clever answer, but not really so! How are we to forget the fact that there are molecules like Nitrogen, Oxygen and others, and after all our neurons are made merely of such molecules.

But which molecule makes us conscious or is there anything other than these chemical compounds present in our body that makes us conscious??? “Too many questions spoil the blog” – so i stop it here. Time for thinking!! And attaining enlightenment!!
